Pin-ups

Pinup is a form of art that is part of our history and cultural. While pinup girls have changed over time, they are still with us today reminding us just how beautiful women truly are.

You do not have to be a professional model to be a Pinup in front of Erik Struve’s camera. Most of our pin-up clients are everyday women. Being a pinup is not all about hair and make-up, but rather attitude and confidence. Mr. Struve will help you bring out your inner Pinup.

Mr. Struve will guide you through the whole process from choosing your theme, styling suggestions, direct your pinup posing and help you with that “perfect pinup expression.” Mr. Struve prides himself in making the “girl next door” look like a professional pinup model. Mr. Struve believes that every woman deserves to be pampered and feel beautiful; but most of all, he believes a woman should feel desired and sexy. Mr. Struve will help to bring this out in his Pinup photography.

Prior to your photo session, Mr. Struve will speak with you to discuss your objectives for the shoot. It is very important that you are comfortable and that we have a clear understanding of what you want to accomplish with your shoot, whether it is for you or that special someone. Mr. Struve will help you pick and stylize your wardrobe including accessories in order to achieve the desired look for your Pinup. Additionally, Mr. Struve will design the studio set or select the location to create the proper ambiance for your portrait.

It may sound obvious, but you can expect technical excellence in our photographs. The photographs will be well composed, exposed correctly, properly color balanced, and in focus. We are consistently surprised by how many of our new clients’ “professionally” done photographs lack technical expertise.

Another key element to a successful photo shoot is teamwork. Everyone involved in a shoot has a pivotal role to play. We work with our clients, our clients' agents or managers, make-up artist, stylists and photo assistants to ensure a successful photo shoot. Mr. Struve will be personally involved in every detail of the shoot.

While we will work hard to bring out your inner Pinup, we cannot do it alone. We need your help. You can help us by arriving on time (if not a little bit early). You will be less stressed, more relaxed and better able to focus on the task at hand. Be prepared by doing your homework prior to the shoot. By this we mean you should do things like grooming (i.e. haircuts, coloring, waxing, tanning sessions, etc.) least four or five days prior to the shoot. Your body needs a chance to “recover” from such grooming activities. Everybody heals at different rates and you want to be photographed at your best, not while your body is still healing. You should get as much sleep as possible at least four or five nights in a row prior to the shoot, preferably at least 8 hours per night. Additionally, please drink a ½ gallon (64 oz) of water or more per day at least four or five days prior to the shoot. By doing this, you will give yourself the greatest chance of looking your best for the shoot. Please note that these suggestions work for most any photo shoot you do.

During the shoot, the two most important things to remember are to relax and have fun!
